I asked the guy who posted the name volume.com in appraisals whether he owned it showing him the .whois information and he replied with the following:

yes the name belonged to hbo, if you look at the "wayback" you can see where the were financing a team of web people to run the show. they missed managed or something and closed the site. they , as far as i know listed it on afternic eary this morning and i snagged it. I hope to god its not BULLSHIT! excuse my french. we will have a little party if its for real!!

Did you see what else this seller has for sale right now? Photo.com Photo.net and Image.com. Photo.com has a bid of 10,500 right now.

If the buyers are using an escrow service, (which they should be using, at these amts), they will be protected, no? Than, the joy.com sale is possibly legit, afterall?

Joy.com is not a legitimate sale. That particular seller thought they would try selling names they didn't own and we are undoing the damage right now.
