Hi guys,
This is a rather lengthy post, please bear with me. I'm being relatively detail oriented so that YOU know what's coming at you and that i don't have to explain the same thing 10x via PM
Here goes:
I need someone to complete the setup of Joomla CMS for my latest project: www.OffroadInsider.com
Most of the modules are already loaded, but need to be connected right, brought to the foreground, nav bar or main/user menu, etc. Some other modules will most likely still have to be installed.
Some of my ideas may not be possible, if that's the case, just let me know and we'll drop them from the list.
Here's what i think OffroadInsider.com should be able to do for its users.
- Gallery: each registered user should have the opportunity to upload images into his/her photo album. The gallery should be referenced by a button in the nav bar, the images rateable by other registered users.
- Forum: already installed, there's most likely not much left to do, unless you can figure out how to get banners into each section header. Forum must have the opportunity for people to upload images locally and link to videos (youtube, etc) into their posts to illustrate their accomplishments, walkthroughs, DIY stuff, etc. I currently have Fireboard installed, we can switch to SMF if needed and install the bridge from SMF to Joomla. That's for the case that Fireboard cannot handle what i'm needing it to do.
- Review/Rating: this section should be for products pertaining to the offroad industry. Separated into multiple categories: Cars | ATV | Mountainbikes | Dirtbikes | Snowmobiles and then sub categories. Basically, once the module is installed and one area is configured, i can take it from there. Reviews/Ratings should also be accessible from the Nav bar and the Menu.
- Blogs: I'd like to offer the opportunity for offroad clubs to start their own blog. These blogs should be accessible by using the "blogs" button in the nav bar, which should lead to a searchable layout where users can search by: Country/State/City or by typing in the club's name into a search box. - I'm not sure if that's a possibility, an experienced Joomla'er can probably tell me.
- Videos: Give users the opportunity to link to videos uploaded at Youtube or elsewhere. These videos should be accessible through the user's photo/media album, referenced by thumbnails and also accessible by a "Video" button in the nav bar and main/user menu.
- Articles: Since it's an online magazine for offroaders, i'd like to hear your thoughts about article publishing within the CMS and whether there need to be adjustments made.
- Shop mod: Offroad Insider needs a shop for parts sales. Essentially it's one huge shop, that should be presented in different parts for Cars | ATV | Mountainbikes | Dirtbikes | Snowmobiles - since most of these categories have their own technical items as well as gear, the shop needs to reflect that.
- Classified mod: I have yet to find one that really does what i'm hoping it would do. Here's the gist of it: Let registered users offer their items for sale through OffroadInsider.com. At first, all listings are free, once the site gains popularity though, i'd like to have an option to charge for listings to support bandwith costs. Payments should be processed through paypal.
I'm guessing that this is a very manageable and almost simple challenge for a skilled Joomla installer that knows which modules are best, how to network these modules and most importantly, have everything accessible by using just one main login.
Let me know how much you'd charge for this type of task, there's no programming involved, just using modules that are already in existence. PM me with your price please. I'm hoping to get this done ASAP.
Thanks guys,
IB
