Joomla security advice

Hey all.

I've been using WordPress for a while, but I want to try using Joomla on one of my sites.
However, after reading around I have become a bit paranoid about site security and being hacked.

Ideally, if I go with Joomla I will want to allow people to register and post text & images.

Anyone using Joomla: what are your essential security tips?

Just make sure you keep up with latest version.
Upgrading with latest version is straight forward and easy

Most security trouble on CMS Joomla are it's components that are not verified by Joomla team. So, if you keep in touch with Joomla updates (sign up their newsletter), use only essential components, respect the right permissions, etc you will make an harder job to who tries to attack you.
