appraise please.

Seems unique as a call-to-action, with a timestamp. could be used by any industry, rented, resold, for specific marketing campaings and in commercials/ advertisements as its easy to remember.

of the gtld the only other timestamp is .now. and yet .now is tackier.

Valuation explanation

Is this b/c too few .today have been resold?
Is there a commonly accepted logic behind valuation besides Cpc and kW traffic?

Yes no sales for comparison and it's competing with countless other, better known extensions.

As mentioned above, it's too early in this "new" game to value these extensions.

But my question is.........

Join what today?

Like a lot of domains in these vanity extensions, it's a good phrase.

If .TODAY has staying power, then you've got a respectable domain. If people feel like paying extra for .TODAY domains, then maybe you'll be fortunate enough to be found by somebody.

But we just don't have enough data. There are some sales of nTLDs, but there are always some sales of any kind of domain. What I've seen has been sparse and mostly in the $xxx and $1xxxx. Plenty of seemingly decent nTLD domains are getting no buyer interest whatsoever.

Domainers aren't buying from domainers. Domainers are giving their money to registries. So that hurts.

Year 2 will be drastically different from Year 1. When companies feel a sense of urgency, they'll buy early on -- meaning this year. That leaves 2015 for drops. And by 2016 we should know how much long-term aftermarket interest there might be. It will be less than domainers who are buying right now hope for, since it's just too easy to find alternatives that remain unregistered in these vanity extensions. Very little pressure for an end user to buy a particular item.

Agree, hard to value an unknown quantity? I do think it's an ok name but as the question was asked ,,, join what? Guessing value anywhere in the $xxx range, good luck

A couple of very good thoughts there.

I wonder if users are as married to dot com as assumed. I have some interest in dot plumbing and found that something like Joes.plumbing was easy to type and remember. It was not so long ago that making sure WWW was included in the domain was a big deal. Not so much anymore. I'm wondering if Joes.plumbing isn't actually a lot easier to use than joesplumbing.com. (Its taken, but not by me :) It is certainly easier than a dot net, org, or biz.

A huge percentage of the dot coms sit undeveloped with huge price tags on them. If your customers find you from your business card, advertising, or search maybe the dot com isn't that important for a small business.

This one does qualify as a call to action domain but it's vague. As NJ said, join... what ?

I don't understand the excitement about domain hacks 2.0.
