Strange ideas come to mind at 4am (Middle Eastern time), but this one just popped into my head: register a bunch of Reservation[animal].com domain names -- ReservationBear.com, ReservationToad.com, ReservationDuck.com, etc. -- and have each one link into to a specific genre of popular consumer reservation (maybe Bear for hotels, Toad for airlines, etc.) and create a site for each one based on some fictional avator. Then turn ReservationBuddy.com into a cute web 2.0 portal site for accessing all of above reservation systems. On each reservation sub-site the animal/avatar becomes your "buddy" or "wizard", guiding the user 1-2-3 through the corresponding booking process.

I know that sounds a lot of work, but I think the resulting site could be adorable and traffic-sucking, since website interactivity is rapidly becoming critical to user satisfaction with the rise of Ajax. If you're lucky, kayak.com or a similar company may buy you up.

I wish I could because this sounds like a fun project, but I'm way too caught up these days working a domain analyzer / drop catcher combo and pitching my portfolios' names to end-users. Maybe I could assist a few months down the line once I've settled down, but for now I'd post an ad under NP's marking/ads section. Oodles of website developers looking for work browse that playground each day, and I'm sure at one would be eager to mold such a novelty -- especially if you pay him.

For now though, I'd reg. those animal names before too many other folks read this post :)

Use DomainCentral...they have $5 .com reg.
