I have a client who wants to create a job website. It will have all the normal features but be for a specific niche that my client works in.

Can you guys recommend some job scripts? Here are a few I found:

http://www.webscribble.com/products/webjobs/index.shtml
http://www.mojoscripts.com/products/mojojobs/demo.shtml
http://www.jobsiteprofessional.com/demo.html
http://www.dieselscripts.com/diesel-job-site.html
http://www.scriptdemo.com/details/phpjobsite/
http://www.w2bpm.com/webapp.php?cat=phpEmployment

Has anyone used these? If so, what is your opinion? If not, what script did you use and why?

What it takes to install and customize these type of scripts?

Also, what else do I need to get the site going (asides from domain and hosting)? For example, do I need an custom template? SSl? payment system? etc..

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Check out these scripts:
http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Classified_Ads/Employment/index.html

It doesn't really take much to install scripts like this (PM me if you need someone). Usally these scripts come with a few graphics to make it ready to advertise, but it's always nicer with a custom template.

Unless their giving some information that needs to be secure (Credit Card, SSC, ect.) you don't need SSI. You won't need a payment system unless your charging people to post.

Hope it helps. :)

Thanks for the recommendations. My client does plan to charge employers to post the ads and search the resumes.

In that case, I would use a shopping cart type payment system. You may also want to bring up having featured ads or other ad features instead of just 'basic' ads. ;)
