JETEYE in logs

Has anyone else noticed this in their logs, I am getting killed here by these ( BOTS ? CRAWLERS? ) I have read on other forums that they are ASS-U-MING that this is a new search engine that is coming out, But I have my own theory what do you think.

For the past 2 1/2 weeks I have had these in my logs for almost all my sites for a tune of approx 75 - 100 MBS bandwidth per day per site. Now just after the first time i noticed this bot or whatever it is visited my site I started to recieve a large amount of spam but the wierd part of this spam is that all the masked senders are [email protected] They all are guarded by this protect@whoisguard. I firmly believe that this jeteye has something to do with all this spam shit

I am considering blocking the bot but I dont want to miss anything , just in case, I also notice in the logs that after this bot arrives, googlebot isnt far behind. I have vistited the website jeteye.com and its very vague, almost spammerish looking, What do you guys and gals think? The below logs are from a site that only has about 15 pages the entire site only comes in at 2.2mbs in size. So i cant figure this one out. What I do think is that this jeteye is spamming our sites or using our BW to send out emails but i still havent figured out how or are they hoping to get alot of backlinks from people like me writting stuff like this?????

I also seem them everywhere and I read a post about them where some exec from jeteye responded.

I can't seem to find that site now but it seemed legit that they were gonna be a new search engine or something like that.

They have an NDA to sign before telling you what's up since they are in alpha phase. I am gonna let them search even though it's adding bandwidth and such...I have plenty still. If you feel it's pushing your resources to the limit you can use a robot.txt to block it.
