I own jdab[dot]co[dot]uk, which I use for my personal blog/website/portfolio. I see that jdab[dot]come is listed for sale, but how much could I be looking at forking out for it?

It wouldn't be for selling on or making money, just to replace the .co.uk.

Any LLLL can go for two to seven figures. As you are the end user, you must be willing to find the figure that you're comfortable buying it at and don't get caught up in the heat of the moment by purchasing it for any more.

I would say you're looking at 4 figures for this domain (whether high or low) as it is BuyDomains. They are good people there and if you explain your situation to them in the way that you requested as an appraisal, they may take it down to a lower 4 figure roundabout for you. However, keep in mind that they need to have inventory turnover and make a profit too. If there were too many sales conducted in this manner, they wouldn't have as many domain names as they do.

Reseller: $$$-$$$
End user: $$$$

Good luck.

Thanks for your feedback, I was afraid that would be the case. As I wouldn't consider myself a domainer (I know right, what am I doing here) I don't really have that kind of money for a name.

Would've paid mid-high $$$ but I doubt they'd accept. May take a punt and offer.

Above $2000, me thinks. A quite nice, rhymey acronym. It doesn't hurt to try with your price range, though.

You never know, they could have acquired this name in 2012 for regular registration, fought for it on an aftermarket or bought it from a reseller for $$-$$$ (not a reported sale from what I can find). Even a mid-high offer on the name would be a solid ROI. I don't think anywhere near what BuyDomains would want, but you shouldn't give up. I would give them a call and offer your maximum and see what they say. They tend to go easier on phone contacts, rather than emails. Just don't have high hopes at that budget.

That's why I went with the worthless .net. The price was much higher. :xf.eek:

I honestly believe BuyDomains to some degree contributes to the overall hatred of domain resellers.

I'm just gonna stick with my .co.uk, not really a big deal for me :P

My worthless .net was originally priced at $5k+ (I think near 6). I told them my full name, we have a history... bam, end user sale at $2750. Doesn't make it any less worthless though. (Only stating this because a domain is only valued in the eye of the beholder, however, there are many who believe LLL.net are worthless)

I would add that jdab is not a brandable name. IMO.

Also, to add a little perspective on prices, a GoDaddy auction for jlog dot com just ended at $365.

"jdab" is kind of a nickname, well, a play on my name. My name is Jamie Dabrowiecki, and as "Dabrowiecki" is near impossible for most people to say, a lot of people shorten it to "dab". Hence, "jdab". :)

Yep, I had factored that in already. :lookaround:

I should have said not "such" a brandable name. But I see why it's meaningful to you.

Just drop the zeros and make an offer lol
Seriously, don't bother with the .com, try to get the .uk and stick with it.
