I just went to register a one word .ws on registercheaper.com.
Paid for it printed out the recipt., they sent me an error I typed it in and it was on afternic in a matter of 5 Secs. How could this happen? I'm pissed,

Well if they gave you a receipt, you obviously bought the product. I would contact their customer service about it because that's illegal. If you pay for something they must give it to you. Please contact them and then update this forum since I'm really interested in it.

If they give you a refund then you can't do much. I registered a domain on Aplus.net which related to the redsox....to make a long story short the next day I noticed someone else had the same name....even though I registered it before them (so the whois records say) that person sold that name for a nice profit and I got the shaft....words of wisdom never ever use APlus.net

Hmm, I've never bought from them but that doesn't sound too good. You should get what you paid for like kjmz pointed out.

Ya, but if someone else registers it before you, it takes time for the db to update. As long as you get your money back, you can't really do anything.

Just remember that how things work online don't necessarily function the way
it does in the offline world, however much we want it to work both ways.

That's why registrars have that portion in their legal fine prints about giving
your money back in case they're not successful in getting the name...because
things like this do happen, however unintended it is. If they keep your money
yet don't give you the domain, then that's a cause to make a big fuss.

You can rant and rave all you want, even sue. But it's not going to change
the reality that someone else actually got it first.

If there's a lesson to be gained from this, it's use a registrar that does things
in real time. Of course, even that's not easy to figure out...
