A few years ago I registered the domain itchaps.com. I just waited until domain tasters finished picking it up and dropping it, and then registered it at godaddy.com (no back ordering).
I think the domain has some pros and one con. Positively it is snappy, quite short, easy to remember, ok for branding.. I have kept it because I might always spin an IT business off from my main work. On the down side it could be construed as sexist if you don't consider women included in chaps. That wouldn't worry me, but a large company may be put off the name for that reason.
What do you think the domain is worth?
Is it me being paranoid or has it become far more difficult and expensive to pick up good domains in the last three years? Three years ago many two word .com domains actually dropped and became available without back ordering. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right places but they all seem to be taken up now.
