discuss Is trading domains a thing?

I'd think trading would be easier than selling - e.g. I ran out of funds after purchasing a good name and wanted to trade it for a different domain, due to the sheer amount.
This should be a thing, maybe with transferring.

You'd need to find a circumstance of someone thinking the same, with regards to wanting a swap. For someone to register a domain or buying an expired domain, whatever the situation may be, to then think I'll do a swap...I'd say a lot of times (but not always) is because the domain isn't selling. Would you want to swap a domain that you feel is perfectly saleable, for another domain that maybe isn't? Maybe I'm being cynical, with regards to "swaps". IMO

back in the day, even traded a LLL com for a revenue earner.

not going to reveal whom trades were with, cuz ...
i might want to go back and do more deals and don't want them getting spammed.

It's a good idea.. especially for diversification purposes
E.g. I own a truckload of AR/VR/XR names so I can trade a quality ar name for someone's quality ai name(let's say they have a bunch of those) now we both get some exposure to the other side..

@forge someone listed names and BIGGIE offered a swap.
I dont remember ever trading a name for a name.
Chances are slim i would do trade these days. Maybe all my weed names for a 4L

if you or anyone else were to list their names for sale and include that they were also willing to "trade"
for "x type" of names, then maybe they might get a bite.

the option of offer a trade, when what you're offering has obvious value,
that's equal to the name being sold, then it might work

but you can't be offering to offload a list of crap, for quality.
nobody is going to take on that cost.

Scam alert. So many problems one goes first etc but scenario....
Post a high value domain request 100 names to get it. Both agree then how to pay so agree on a price eg 1000 and use paypal thinking protection but numbers are a problem and one fails so end up losing all over one name with dispute.
