Inquirer: Hi, is your domain xxx.com for sale? How much?

Me: Yes it's available for sale. We've had several high offers of $40,000+ this past year.

Inquirer:
Hello, Thank you for your reply. We can offer $10,000 USD. If you wish to move forward with selling the domain, we can make payment by either PayPal, Escrow.com or Payoneer Escrow whichever you prefer.
We will also cover any transaction fees so that you'll receive $10,000 net on the sale.
If you wish to proceed, please let me know and which payment option that you prefer.

Me: Why the F would I take 10k if I've been offerred 40k+??

I probably lost a potential future customer..but..WORTH IT!!

Well that answer in my point of view is 100% accurate if his insisting that his getting $40K offers why low ball that just you trying to make him sound like his lying to you which most of us do lol but in his defense i say his just trying to get his dream offer.. and you low balling him is making you shattering his dream lol

He thinks you were making up the offers and he is praying you are desperate for cash and you will take his deal. That is why he is making a point and saying you will net 10k.

He is bang on with his offer because a large amount of domainers will say I have had offers of xxx.

You would be amazed how many domainers will cave and sell when 10k is actually put on the table. I have done similar to what the guy did and gotten the domain for 5k.

Not saying you did not have the offers but there is a lot of bull in the industry and sometimes cash on the table buys it.

You could reply.

" Thank you for your offer, but the name is worth substantially more. Should you wish to check this, then please use this valuation company to verify the fact". You could then become an affiliate of the valuation service. You never know, you might pick up a bit of commission. :)

Any experienced domainer would know that "We've had several high offers of $40,000+ this past year" is nonsense. Few domains are actually worth that much, and if you did get such offers they would be all over the map, not in a narrow range, and you would be receiving $500 to $10k level offers DAILY.

So, I would say both of your responses were inappropriate. If you don't want offers, put a price on your listing.

A starting offer of $10k could easily turn into a mid $xx,xxx or higher settlement.

As much as you want to be an a$$hole, you have to put that aside and play the game.

A simple "Thanks, but I won't consider anything under $50,000", and they may surprise you an make another offer.
