Is this legit?

Hi all!

I've got an offer to sell my domain and it looks very legit - but I have doubts. I've never been on the selling side before, only buying side. I've got an email from someone at Sedo, I've googled him, he does work there, looks legit. The negotiation was very smooth, almost too smooth I'd say? He very easily agreed to my price only after a few days.

Then he said the process is for buyer to transfer money to Sedo holding account, then I'd transfer the domain to them, and then they'd transfer the money to me.

Is this legit? Has anybody sold to a Sedo agent - is that how it works? I'm worried that we're not using a third-party escrow service.. should I say I only want to use Escrow or something like that? Or am I just being too paranoid?

Thanks so much!

is the email you REPLY to an actual sedo email?

i assume you have a sedo account or they asked you to create one for the transaction... and, if that is the case, you should see the details of the negotiation in your account i think.

and i definitely would not be transferring the domain to anyone, other than sedo, and after i have verified the transaction from within my sedo control panel.... good luck and hope is a legit sale! if not, please share more details of the "technique" so we can watch out too.

You should go with escrow in any case, protect yourself not to be sorry later.

if it is a legit sedo brokerage deal they offer their own in-house escrow and doubt using a 3rd party escrow service is an option... and, assuming it is legit and the buyer is choosing to go through sedo rather than contact the OP directly, they probably want to use sedo's service too... but again all speculation not knowing if a legit offer or not.
