Hi all..

I just received an offer to buy my domain from a supposedly domain broker and the email seems to come from a large internet company in Japan.

However, the agent says that due to regulations in Japan, the buyer needs to have a proper certification to do a bank transfer due to the price being more than 10k.

The broker then sent me a link to get my domain certified for USD199. This is the link: http://certified.authorize-one.net/appraisal.htm
He insisted that the certification has a 100% money back guarantee if things do not work out.

Is this another scam and if so, has anyone received a similar request?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

hmmm..... a large company in japan, using a subdomain, and in .net

that alone, should alert your spider senses

the hope of being contacted by "large company", is why some fall victim to these scams

imo....

its an old trick for domainer! if I don't mistake I read that kind of trick at BHW in 2010!, basically its not scam, its just a trick to get affiliates sales! because some people have a lot of sales for doing that! after you pay for appraisal, they will leave you! and that's it! they got sales, you got nothing!

you're wrong, it is a scam

it's conspiracy to engage, with false pretense

Tell them to pay the fee, and offer to refund it when you receive cleared funds for the name.

Alternatively, just delete the mail.
