Is this "acceptable"?

I'm working on a dating site. Is it acceptable to download photos of people from istock and use them to make dummy profiles so the site seems more active?

Well, I personally wouldnt do it - what if someone sends them a message? - But it could be an effective way of attracting more customers

People post fake pics on dating sites anyway. I would think this would be allowed.

I figure if someone sends a message to a fake user they will just assume that person wasn't interested in them (which is true, basically).

Well, it's not very.. etical. However.. most people won't register if there are under the impression that there aren't so many users on your site. So.. you're the webmaster and you have to do whatever you can to attract more signups.
