Is there a backordering service for reg fee?

Except my A list that I track on snapnames I have a B list of a few hundred names that I'm checking manually daily. These are names in pending delete or redemption period status.

Everyday I find out that one or two of them have become available. Then I decide to register it or not. The problem is, me doing daily availability checks is not good enough. Also it is not easy.

I'm looking for a solution that checks the domains more frequently, maybe every 6 hours and then registers them. It could be a php script that works with api codes that I can use with my moniker account. Also it could be a registrar that offeres this service.

I want to register the domains for reg fee. I'm not happy with godaddy's prices. These are domains that I'm not desperate for but would register for reg fee. Also I don't know if godaddy would work the way I describe.

How does godaddy's backordering work for a domain that is on another registrar and was not snapped by snapcatchers but becames avaiable naturally?

Any suggestions are welcome.

From what I understand, godaddy when you back order does attempt to snap up the domain.

And the $18.95 fee with godaddy is non-refundable, regardless of whether or not you get the domain. You would be better off looking into things like pool.com with backordering that you don't pay for unless you win.

You may want to consider trying the Domain Grabber software (commercial). It will attempt to directly register the domain at Moniker or Enom automatically, however it cannot compete with Pool, SnapNames, ClubDrop, etc. if there are bids for the domain.

It doesn't have to compete with any dropcatcher. I simply want to register a dropping domain that was not backordered at all. There has to be a better way than hand registering.

The software at dnware looks good but is too pricey at 130 USD for 12 months. What is the point spending so much money for a software if you want a cheaper solution than dropcatchers? I wish a registrar would offer this kind of service.

Somebody with an affiliate account and scripting knowledge could build such a site. I don't need a dropcatcher that tries to grab the same minute the domain drops. It is sufficient if it registers the same day.

Well, it's $130 for 12 months. So the more you use it, the cheaper it is. If you get 130 domains from the software over a 12 month period, your essentially paying a $1 to catch each domain.

If you don't want to pay, I guess you could always write your own program/script to interact with the Enom/Moniker API.

The auto-register feature is now available on ALL domain monitoring submissions. If enabled, we will attempt to register your domain name several times per second, every minute, every hour, 24/7/356. Price is only $7.77 per successful auto-registration and you only pay if we get the name.

OT: Their free tasting service is very nice, however they easily max out their available funds at Enom, allowing only around 1,500 domains to be tasted at a time.

"We are in the process of teaming up with a registrar to offer each of our users the ability to taste up to 1,000 domains, 100% free. This partnership should be completed sometime MID-LATE June (sorry for the delay)."

Any news on this?

No News on the tasting, however, the auto-registering and tasting are two different services. Auto-reg can doesn't have a budget limit like tasting does, as far as I know. You can monitor up to 200 domains I believe, and each one of those can be backordered.

$7.77 is a good price. This looks like a newly added service to premiumdrops. I might give this a try and see how it works. I should have somewhere an enom acount.

If you have a domain at enom is there an easy way to transfer it to namecheap or do you just follow the normal way?

NameCheap uses their own database, so you'll need to transfer it as you normally would.

Thank you asianinvasion for your answer.

I'm trying premiumdrops now. They allow 100 domains (only com or net) to monitor and you can set to auto-register. The only problem is I couldn't figure out how it works.

Reg-fee, do you know how payment works for auto-register over premiumdrops? Is it my CC on file at enom that is charged or do I need to enter a CC to premiumdrops?

Edit:
Nevermind. Found the answer. You need to provide CC info to premiumdrops. I'm not comfortable with this. What if the CC info gets stolen? The page is a http page and not https. I wish it worked differently. Also my CC company charges me an overseas fee.

At namecheap you can add funds to your account via paypal. Then you spend them as you need. This is the best way I have ever seen.

I'm sure if you suggested some sort of pre-funding option to Luc (the creator of PD) he'd take it into consideration. He's good at implementing user requests/suggestions.

Regarding the lack of https, I find that odd that Luc didn't make this more secure. I'll email him about that.

I have send him an email suggesting an adding funds feature. I have also send him a pm pointing him to this thread.

i always see this:

Ooops! Seems like we maxed out our $10k account at eNom.

Domains auto-delete every minute (exactly 96 hours after their initial registration) so you may want to try again in a bit.

We are in the process of teaming up with a registrar to offer each of our users the ability to taste up to 1,000 domains, 100% free. This partnership should be completed sometime MID-LATE June (sorry for the delay).

Sorry for the inconvenience and try back soon since domains delete every few minutes.
