i want to make a forum, and i was going to register a name such as...

blahblahforums.com

is it best to leave the S because it sounds better, or leave it off?? I am not sure which is easier to remember/communicate to another person....

Any advice would be great

well, is it for one forum, or for multiple forums?! One, no s. Multiple, yes s.

well i mean, it would be a forum, with multiple different sub-forums

I was faced with a similar dilemma whilst registering my last domain name..,
I've played safe I took both endings (with and without the S ) as you run the risk of losing potential visitors to your site and someone else will only register the name you didnโ€™t it if your site becomes popular.

Best..

If you get only one version and develop a nice website, it is likely that someone will monetize on your traffic by parking the other. So yeah, get both and redirect one to another.

I'd say, go for the singular version of the name

It most often depends on the name itself whether to use the singular or plural version. For instance, if you had a car lot the name MyCars would be better than MyCar. I would use the singular 'forum' for a forum website but I would also register the plural version if its available and point it to the other one.

Sometimes it's hard to determine which is better but the single is better for a forum website even tho you may have many sub-forums on the main forum site...IMHO.

If they are both available then just get both, that way you never have to think back on it.

mycarforum.com's developed.
mycarforums.com's parked.

The guy should have gotten both.

That's exactly what I was writing about! A few bucks a year is not a big price to pay to keep your visitors to yourself and maybe gain a bunch of new ones. :)
