Hello guys
I wonder if Domain furoms good place for selling Domains, I have listed many Domains for sale in multi forums with no interest, while I have sold the same domains with the same asking prices even more in other places like Bido before closing, Ebay, Sedo, epik, even GoDaddy auction, any opinions with thanks.

Domain forums are a good place domains but you probably will not get as much as you can somewhere else and you definitely won't get them at end user pricing as you have found out.

In domain forums, you are dealing with domainers who want to get a good deal on domains so you probably won't get as high as you'd like.

It is good if you want to do a quick sale to part with a domain and recover some cash.

This of course is in general and may not be true of every case.

Forums are generally good places to learn and make connections. Their marketplaces are usually on the lower end as sales are reseller to reseller. You want to find end-users and they aren't at domainer communities.

Unfortunately as has been pointed out above domaining forums are not the best place for 'selling' domains, however obviously this fact means they can be 'good' places for buying domains!

When listing domains on a domaining forum it has to be expected that the general rule is that you are going to get less than you could do if you went hunting for end-users, that having been said though there are times when appropriate end-users are domainers/developers and therefore the forums are the most apt place to sell some particular domains.

I have sold a domain in a forum last month for $6, and yesterday this domain sold by the new owner in eBay for $36.

Well jamaltq I would say that you shouldn't feel too bad. First off at least it wasn't resold for a lot more ($xxx) which is good.

And see you learned something now.

That is often what happens if you sell the domain at domain forums. The buyer is pretty much a domainer looking to eventually resell that domain name to someone else.

If you want to resell it at a higher cost you need to find an end user or sell it at major domain marketplaces (SEDO, Afternic, etc).

I agree. Forums are a good place to buy domains. However, you will hardly get an offer that you are hoping for in forums. If you are set on high returns, I suggest continuing to sell on Sedo, Godaddy, & places like that. I haven't had good luck with eBay either. The returns there typically receive between $4.00 to $20.00.

It all depends on the domain. Domain forums are good selling points for quick sales in the lower end: $x - low $xxx. However the main strengths are the networking possibilities and not least the information these forums contain. For the inexperienced domainer a domain forum is always a good place to start. The domain might not be sold but it is possible to receive advice and feedback.

If your domains are not so bad, you should even consider to contact some end users you think could be interested in acquiring them. It's the better choice, you can offer the domains at higher (but not so high) prices, instead of selling them on forums (or even GoDaddy / eBay i.e.) at $x / $xx when you're lucky.

any tips do you have to share with us for finding the end users effectively? :bah:

Obviously end-users are the best option but as the thread you are referring to clearly shows it is hard work and often contacting tons of potential end-users will not result i a single reply.

The trick is to build up knowledge about which websites, contacts etc. to use for different type of domains and occasionally you might be lucky and run into an end-user :)

In my case, When I sell my domains in the Forums it is usually because I'm lazy, and don't feel like chasing an end-user, or promoting a domain to push to sedo, or creating an ad for ebay or any other of the 100 things we should do to monetize my domains.

It is just FAST and EZ, and that is why I sell some of mine on Forums.

Of course, the price we have to pay is a cheaper sale.

So, my advice to you is (Don't grab too many domains).
Keep just enough so you are able to manage them correctly and get the most out of them. Once you are overloaded, and your management skills are lacking, and renewals are coming up, they you are forced to move quickly, and thats not good for you (the seller) only good for the buyer.

But if you wanna off load a bunch of domains quick and EZ, then there really is no better place than the Forums.

Good Luck,
Vito

Forums are public places. A lot of potential buyers are there. I suppose that is very good idea to sell your domain names on the forums like namepros is.
