Is the Promotion of internet casinos, poker and sports gaming is illegal within the United States, like displaying a banner or a link on your site?

it is legal to sell books, cards, card tables, travel offers to vegas etc.. but illegal to profit from internet casinos.

I've never heard of any case where charges were brought against someone for promoting an online casino. The law in the US concerning online gambling is very ambiguous and it still hasn't been determined one way or the other. So I'd say that advertising casino sites is fairly safe, but do some research on the topic.

I never heard of anyone getting in trouble putting a gambling banner on their site. They go after the gamming site its self if it does sports gambling with a person in the usa for example. they do this by controlling how money is transfered offshore. I had a party poker banner up for like 3 years and just sold the site and never any problems.

So, what does within the United States, France, Germany, Sweden and other EU countries mean?

Does it mean promoting casinos located within the United States, France, Germany, Sweden and other EU countries is illegal? Or,

Does it mean that any person residing within the United States, France, Germany, Sweden and other EU countries who promotes internet casino is illegal?

I bought the domain name NationalJockeyLeague.com and was going to turn it into some kind of online horse race betting site. Figuring out the legalities was just too confusing and too much work so I dropped the idea and am simply going to sell the name.
