Along with text and banners, some(or all) affiliate programs offer a custom affiliate link.. Now I Know if someone clicks that link and use the referred service you get a commission. But can you use domain forwarding to send traffic to that link? Basically instead of forwarding a domain to your website, you would use an affiliate link instead. If it's ok...will it work right anyway?

Thanks

It works but you should contact the affiliate manager of the program and ask. Some are ok with it, some aren't.

Used to be done all the time way back when.
But it works best if the domain forwarded to the affiliate site is appropriate for the affiliate.
EG: got a forex affiliate, then have a domain that has forex in it.

I tried 'stealth' forwarding my domain to one of my pinterest boards showing a collection of 'pins'/ideas. Unfortunately they (pinterest) won't allow it and all you see is a blank page and title at the very top of browser. And now that they're slowly getting into business by creating "buy pins" (and possibly adding affiliate program), they'll probably stick with their decision.

From a few searches, this seems to be because of spammy sites directing traffic that had no affiliation with pinterest. So a few years back they made pinterest account owners verify external websites to be linked to their account somehow, not sure how it's set up now but I see pins with links to websites and only clickable when logged in. You can say that's a good thing as you can probably create multiple pins for one website or pages of the same website, creating backlinks? I've yet to find out if this can be done with domains.

Read the terms of each affiliate program as some allow certain things and others don't. Wouldn't wanna make sales and then not get paid due to terms violations.
