Is it fair to allow this "Special Registration" window on new extensions? I don't think it is. I think it's just a bs way for registrars to buy up all the super valuable names so they keep making the huge returns. Perfect example is .FUN thats coming out April 5th - You can buy names now as a special registration but they all seem to be already bought and are available for sale from the owner or the registrar is just jacking up the prices to a Unbelievable amounts. For example, I typed a dumb word that really dont go with Fun like DOG and it is priced at
$11,550.00 or the word BIKE.fun is $6,050.00 but then I just hit randon keys and got this dsgsghrhretherh.fun and its priced at $572.00

    WTF?

Well .. in theory the registry own all the names so they can more or less do what they want.

However ICANN has put certain rules in place.

That being said .. the spirit of some of the rules are being broken with shell companies being set up by the same owners of the registries to reserve the best names.

Some seriously questionable things going on with ICANN ...

I can think of a couple of porn sites that could be used with .fun, but not much else.

    Oh wait, there's registrar.fun of course. :)
