I just registered a few .info names on godaddy and I'm happy with them (especially since they were 99 cents each). Is .info really any good?

I just recently started registering names and I haven't really been getting ones that people think are really good domains, I get ones that interest me. Once I get better at that stuff, I'll probably be going after bigger names, for now I just want to develop and stuff.

I only got four because I already have a bunch of domains I want to develop.

EricTheRed.info
LeifEricson.info
Jormungandr.info
Naegling.info

Eh, not that good, but it was $4. :P

I'm thinking I might build a network of viking history and norse mythology sites. I have ProseEdda.com and ProseEdda.net.

Great!
Its a good thing when your thinking of developing. Developing .info sites helps the names even more as the names are directly linked to the info provided on the site.

Also try doing a whois on .info names you might be interested in, for example vikings.info. Send a reasonable offer and you might be pleasantly surprised, the owner might actually sell. No harm trying as .info expectations are slowly picking up, still the right time to negotiate good deals off owners.

Looking forward to seeing your developed sites!

I love the .info's. Personally I see a lot of potential from them. They are extremely cheap to register and even purchasing a developed one won't put a huge whole in your wallet. Development is the perfect fit for .info's. Nice choices too.

Hey, cool! It's pretty cool to see that I did well.
I'll develop them soon and see what happens from there. I'll also start looking around for some other .info sites. Thanks guys!

Depends on what you register in the .info extention, just like any other extention. But generally, yes, .info names are good especially for informational sites.

.info was created for information providing status.so as far as the domain name goes with the requirement i think the domain name can certainly fetch a good amount of bucks for everyone. rest you never know about the domaining industry coz it is very spontaneous..
