Hello!

I was happy to pick up my second domain ever last week with Slots.Cards.
Read on estibot that other slots.any have gone for between $7000-226 000.

I was thinking I would start humble and put it up for $500. Its marketed at Sedo for a week but not a single offer even though lowest bid was set to 100.

Is this because of net-gambling being illegal in the states. Are gambling domains cold?

Guess I could wave my NYCDice, NewYorkDice, DICENYC and DICENewYorks goodbye then. If not EA opens up a new studio in New York 😁

Anyone had any gambling luck?

Due to recent changes in our laws, gambling in the US is starting to ramp up. So the market for good domains should improve markedly in the coming years. In particular, sportsbetting domains will likely be the biggest winners in this niche.

As to your specific domains, personally I don't see much potential for most gtld's in general and your Slots.Cards is a bit of a mismatch on 2 levels.

  1. First, it's "plural dot plural" which (usually) isn't a good combination in English.
  2. The order of the words count for a lot. "Slots" doesn't really go before "cards", though "card" might be acceptable before "slots", as in suggesting "poker slots".

Are your "NY Dice" domains dot coms or are they also dot cards? If they are coms, they might have potential at some point, but you will likely have to actively seek out buyers. If they are dot cards, I don't see any value in them at all.

Good luck.

Ps. Drop "DICENewYorks". I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as anything "New Yorks".

Thank you for your time and extensive reply. I appreciate it. Was not not aware of the awkward double-plural thing. English not my main language.

The Dice-domains are .com. I will sit on them for a while and try to sell them every now and them.

Much appreciated!

You are welcome Lev.

I assumed English wasn't your mother tongue - though you are pretty damn good with it! (y)

Please note that I updated my post above with a "PS" at the same time you were posting your reply.

Haha, thanks!

”The s” was a typo. It is singular. Haha, sweaty sell otherwise to try and find a franchise that spreads over several new yorks. Good eye!

I am confident that there is demand for premium casino names. If stats are dead then it isn't the industry.

Gambling is alive and well.

So there are a few issues with gambling domains in the USA. One promising thing is that the Supreme Court has recently opened the door to sports books across the nation(still up to the individual States of course). But the big issue is still the Interstate Wire Act of 1961 that prohibits bets and the transfer of gaming information between states, so there is no way to offer any sort of multiple state gambling operations.

I haven't bought any gambling related domains, but if I did, I'd make sure they would make sense to be used internationally or for a simulated gambling app or video game.
