Just hoping to get a few opinions on the strategy of buying premium .TV domains to buy, hold, and then flip (sell).

Does anyone still think this is a viable investment strategy?

big no, if i had to choose between a $10000 .tv premium and a $10000 .com(bin) for resale then .com would be my choise

$500 or less if it is an exceptional word. Do not think you can own many of them 1 or 2 IMO.

With more tld's coming and people not wanting to pay a premium. A premium buy and hold mentality makes little sense. If you can get a great keyword like fight.tv $250 sold for $18,000. Filmmakers.tv $273 premium sold for $10,000. I think you have better opportunity in other areas this is not 2004-2006. Again IMO

Almost always a losing proposition in my view. There was small amount of opportunity in the past especially with low priced premiums, now well and truly gone.

Filmmakers.tv $273 premium sold for $10,000.

Sounds like a very low probability example, in terms of the selling price being way too high rather than the reg fee being low.

Aside from the rare flukey case this is only going to work if the renewals is mispriced by verisign on the downside. eg movies.tv for $500/yr. Flowers.tv was a good example from the past, having said that I'm not sure it is worth the $1000 renewal in today's market, though certainly was in the boom boom years when flowers.mobi got 200k.
