Is arcade site really hard ?

Somebody said me its really hard to maintain arcade game sites.
there is not arcade site on my country.
So i think that will be good business .
But i found one saying its really hard to maintain arcade game site.
I found later that he is also planning for arcade site.
But i like to ask with you guys before starting.
Cant i host arcade site with normal web hosts?
like with 5gb webspace,40 gb bandwidth.

at the start you can host with that spec, give it 3 weeks, and you need more. the only hard part is the .swf uploading because it's so many like if you plan to have more players on it, at least have 500Games+ on it. also you need the script for it.

Not much hard nowadays.

You get scripts ready made database. And game-packs.

If you are using cPanle then upload it as zip and then extract the files after the zip is uploaded it might save you from uploading extra 200 MB of data. :D

But honesty those specs you have given will be enough for the first month for sure ,
if its a new site with no established high traffic

Let me recommend another product. It's more considered as like the vBulletin of the arcade systems. With the version 4 final coming out in weeks with a totally new coding, it should be great! Personally, I like GS.

The 5gb one would be a nice touch as a first site for your arcade game but if you see that your getting alot of traffic like lets say 500 people per day or maybe more then its time to upgrade your website and add more alot of good arcade sites let people submit there Game or Small Movie like www.newgrounds.com its a nice arcade site (Parental Advisary) and www.videojuegos.com is also nice (No Parental Advisary) so if you get alot of people you know when to upgrade maybe from 5gb t 7gb then 7gb to 10gb you never know if your site can be very huge like huger then www.namepros.com :O

Games can be lots of different sizes - also it depends on your internet speed, your hosts internet speed, ect

Yeah i know they can be of different size.
I dont have any knowldge about arcade site.
So I am talking about average games.

gamescript.net is the best script out with proper support and good layout ect, it has better features then all other scripts.

Also in gamescript you just run the sql in database then run a file called games_install.php in your brower and it grabs all the games for you from other sites that means all games in seconds!

Zach you should do some better integration/blending with Adsense. Send a ton of traffic to the site and you should be able to do over $100 a day easy.
