Hey everyone, I am very new to the whole affiliate marketing business. I am looking into different niches, specifically for online dating services. I think I will be using a blog to promote their services. However, I am only on squidoo and wordpress since I do not own a great domain name relating to this niche. In order to start making money, is it necessary for me to get one? And also, since I am extremely new, if anyone will please set me on the right track, please msn me or email me at [email protected].

Thanks a lot!

blogspot.com/blogger.com can host free blogs as well, and you can monetize it via adsense and they provide link to it as well, and real-time approval of your adsense account.

Serious Work, Will got Serious Earning...
Domain is very neccesary to start... Absolutely if you want to start within affiliate.. Better than use domain.. You can learn much if you have domain.

But if you dont want to make it.. You can made some subdomain in freedns.affraid.org and apply free hosting at 000webhost.com

thats all...

regards.

a domain isn't required to make money, but many affiliate programs require that you own your domain (no blogger or free wordpress.com blogs). you should highly consider just getting one domain though, since it also adds a sense of reputability and will help in sales.

If you want a domain and don't want all the hassle of setting it up you can host your domain directly on blogger.com.

It still looks like a blogger blog, but it's under your name & if you want to move it elsewhere that's your choice.

I've done it with one of my domains www. que. co. nz (Just take the spaces out)

Just watch out on Blogger, if your dating site smacks of being "adult" it could get you shut down and there will be no warning.

A domain would make your site/blog look more decent and credible in the eyes of a visitor. It's a cheap and very good investment especially if you plan to keep your blog for a long time.

headsup, they have changed content policy about that;
http://www.blogger.com/content.g
PORNOGRAPHY AND OBSCENITY:

* Pornography and Obscenity: Image and video content that contains nudity, sexually graphic material, or material that is otherwise deemed explicit by Google should be made private. Otherwise, we may put such content behind an interstitial.
* Pedophilia, Incest and Bestiality: Users may not publish written, image or video content that promotes pedophilia, incest and bestiality.
* Commercial Pornography: We do not allow content that exists for the primary purpose of monetizing porn content or driving traffic to a monetized pornography site.
* Child Pornography: Google has a zero-tolerance policy against child pornography, and we will terminate and report to the appropriate authorities any user who publishes or distributes child pornography.
