With reply by Vance P. Hedderel the PR topguy from .MOBI

And a reply from Vance to my query about marketing .mobi to a wider audience.
Fred -
Thank you for your interest in dotMobi.
If I may respond to your comments in reverse order:
Mobileplay and Avantago are indeed options to get appropriate content on
mobile phones. The same goal that dotMobi is pursuing.
dotMobi is not necessarily in competition with any of these services and
can work successfully alongside them. dotMobi is a domain name backed
with a set of open standards designed to encourage best practices in the
presentation of mobile content. dotMobi signifies to end users that a
site that ends with .mobi will work successfully on a mobile phone.
As far as advertising, dotMobi is running several ad campaigns, designed
for specific audiences (registrars, developers, advertisers, etc.).
Corporately, we believe that general campaigns are more appropriate for
brands. For example, you can currently see a large-scale media campaign
for businessweek.mobi in San Francisco and NYC while cnnmobey.mobi is
running print ads in US national business magazines. You will see this
type of advertising through Europe and Asia in the coming months.
Again, thank you for your comments.
