Installation problem

i tried to install phpbb and then smallmachines , i obtain the same result when trying to log on the admin page just after install: blank page with "error" written, i think its an error of database but not sure, can it be a host problem ?

Did you manually install these or are you using Fantastico or a similar installer script.

yes simple machines

i did both manual and fantastico installation, same results

it writes only "error" on top left on the page
