I saw on the news about 3 weeks ago about a new ringtone that only the younger adults or kids are able to hear but not adults----so your cell could ring in class and you would hear it but not the teacher. It is called Mosquitotone---after seeing this of course I went and registered a few names

I'm 26, I hear it and it's high pitch and hurts my ears. Nothing I wanna hear alot of. I wonder how animals re-act.. lol

Thanks for the link to the tone Green Gambler. I'm 26 as well and I hear it just fine. Maybe I should download it and have a listen every year and when I can no longer hear it, I'll know that I am old I could also hear the 17 and 18 Khz pure sine waves with no problem...

An interesting note though, is that chart doesn't represent ages 25-29, it skips right over them... So maybe during the ages of 25-29 we are supermen who can hear anything?

I'd like to know if this is a real thing, maybe some older domainers can test it out and give their feedback. I saw an episode of MythBusters once where they were testing something called the Brown Tone... Basically it was a tone that was supposed to make you crap yourself... haha, it didn't work though.

This has been around for quite some time now. Somehow, it became popular again with the fact that you can use it in cellphones. I think ringtone sites with mosquitotone as the domain would be great, but I wouldn't reg any other ones...

Wow, that's weird. If I'm in a very quiet room, I can hear it faintly (I'm 36). I cranked the volume on my PC and played it for my wife (31) and daughters (5, 5 and 7) and they all went crazy telling me to turn it down. I couldn't hear it but my ears hurt while it was playing - weird. Sucks getting older.
