Back at the beginning of March Epik ran a promo for non-premium .Info domain registrations at $1.25 each. I decided to try a small experiment and ended up buying 111 domains from this deal. I selected the domains by using a list of recent .info drops from ExpiredDomains.net that were registered in several other TLD's, I can't remember exactly but I think I settled on 10 TLDs for the search. The result was a list of 177 domains, after conducting a bulk search on Epik I found only 111 were still available and registered them.
There was some discussion on whether or not .info aftermarket is dead...
The results...well I can't tell for sure if it is dead, but as of today I officially have reached profitability.
My first step was as soon as I acquired the names I tried listing on NameLiquidate, to no avail. Not one sale. Retried again a couple of months later, same result. Sold 4 names in the $x range thought he Epik Marketplace and here for a total of $10....whew big bucks!
My real luck has come from Afternic.
4/24 (about a week before they had been registered for 60 days) I got the email eat/me sold for $50.
5/2 pine/cone sold for $50.
After commission I made $70 from those two sales. Combined with my other small few sales I was still in the read having paid $138.75 I was still down $58.75 but there was still nearly 10 months left until renewals would come due.
After this I did some re-evaluating of my domains, I noticed a small few had more traffic that I would have guessed they would get so I bumped up my BIN prices on those from $50. I set the highest traffic ones to $499 ($599 on Afternic) and some somewhat high traffic names to $149 ($199 on Afternic). Still leaving the majority at $50 and in some cases less of Epik. I also deleted and re-added the names to Afternic to get them opted into fast transfer to get into the registration path now that they were over 60 days old.
Then today, 5/28, about an hour ago, I got this email...
Which means I should get $479.20 after commission meaning I will be at $420.25 profit and still 9 more months before the remaining 104 names come up for their first renewal.
So now that I no longer have to worry about breaking even, moving forward I have changed all by bins to $499/$599 and will provide updates if I am able to get any more sales.
So back to what @Jurgen Wolf said, "You are already number N who does those 'experiments' with .info
Some endless game where only Afilias wins..."
Over $400 in profit in just under 3 months, passively. Not an outrageous success or anything, no 4 figure sales or anything but not bad for an experiment and a few hours for research and managing the marketplace listings. Question is was I just lucky?

Ya I got that email too. So I am trying an experiment. I got a list of recently deleted .info domains from expireddomains that also met certain criteria and did a bulk search, I got 111/177. I just listed them all on NameLiquidate to see if I can't get some quick sales, any that don't sell when that is over will get a very low BIN on an Epik lander and/or maybe list here. I'll be curious to see what sort of profit I can make on this.
.info aftermarket is almost dead since 2015.
Could be idk. That's why it's an experiment. They were cheap enough to where it honestly dosent matter but I figure I'd see first hand.

Just information.
