Just launched the www.GeoDomainer.com social network. This is something that has been missing in this industry for years. It is targeted on those who are focused on geo domains, but all are welcomed.

Please let me know your thoughts.

On a different note, why do so many domainers like to hide behind the internet with an avatar?

I find this a strange behavior in an industry that is filled with professionals who conduct business for hundreds and thousands of dollars weekly/monthly. Members of the forums love to use these avatars instead of a picture that represents them.

Looks nice Steve. I just joined up. Just put in puliminary info to start. I follow your blog and forum, as I'm quite intrigued with the Geo aspect. I pursue more the 'local' and 'local search' aspects currently, but see the whole Geo thing is something to watch and be in.

On your question of why just avatars instead of pics, I can think of one reason. One must always remember that putting anything on the internet is like sending something in space! Once it is published or launched, and serves it's initial purpose, it drifts off far, far from sight. However it's still always out there and someday it can, and will be, found! But by who, and why and what can they do with it??

One must always be sure of what personal, or otherwise, information is published to the web. JMO.

I dunno, why isn't your picture in your avatar? I do it for branding and because nobody wants to see my ugly face, lol
