Is it possible to get a domain indexed/ranked if the domain is forwarded to another? Or would G and the others just use the domain it is forwarded to?

If so what would be the best SEO techniques to accomplish this?

If there's no page on the forwarded domain, what is there to index? Google would index the page that the domain forwards to.

Ya makes sense.
What about using stealth forwarding or CNAME.
Do either of these have any advantages?
