Anyone know any more about www.in.com?

Looks like an American company from San Diego who are in charge: http://whois.domaintools.com/in.com.

Launches in just a few days....

The company must have a lot of money behind it. Last year, On com sold for $635,000. Imagine how much in.com cost....

They once claimed they'll be the MySpace of India but that assertion no longer appears on their frontpage.

They also claimed that the site would launch in January of 2007.

God...just imagine every hack possibility with .in domains as subhack possibilities with in.com. On.com was my favorite domain I've ever seen for sale and IMO undersold, but this would be pretty close.

I agree nametrader. in.com is a very good domain, and you can start a myspace site + registrar site hehe

I wouldn't be surprised if CentralNic ever tried to get ahold of them for a registrar site.

u never know a centralnic move for in.com would add another 1 billion people to their population....add jp.com and au.com and it would be a great triple whammy to add to eu.com us.com uk.com ru.com kr.com br.com and cn.com

i dont know much more but that www.in and www.in.com are now the same site. Good move IMO. It looks liek they are planning a pretty big launch but it seems like they would have a little more of a splash page. I wish i owned both of those. I guess i will just have to settle with www.im as being close enough :)

3 days left...

I hope it works. A superstar site is great for attracting attention to a particular sector. India's internet business could gain a lot from a successful launch, even an American-owned one.

I'm dumb for not checking this before, and it turns out they are too..... check out: http://in.com/index.html

No password protection and really a pretty lame site design. An ugly logo, confusing navigation and they have their hotmail address as the main email?

A disappointing waste of a great domain.

Wonder why they left it up?

Anyway - the launch has been postponed by another two weeks now. February 15th is the latest launch date.

Probably just to maintain their Google PR and keep the bots coming.

I agree, on.com could very well be top value for a domain.

I hate to do this... :)

http://in.com/install/index.php

They have a copy of the http://www.boonex.com CMS ready to install. You can even attempt to install it yourself :)

Seems like a strange way to act for a company owning a multi-million dollar domain name.
Admit it, you enjoyed it. :) I don't want to know how you sniffed this out, OK, actually I do.
