Important question about domain Forwarding

So my company is looking into aquiring a premium domain name. However, the previous owners want some time to transition their old email addresses under the domain name to new ones. I know we can't change the DNS and keep all of their email addresses up and running, but can we set the domain to forward during this period of time without messing up their email? I don't have much experience with this and any information would be appreciated.

yep you should be able to url forward the domain to another so you can get started on a site
