Very bright, very happy and a windows XP default background image in the thumbnail. Yeah,....ok, let's go:

The "box" is too small and looks a bit crowded. I'd enlarge it a bit, make it easier to look at. Interesting Image division: it's 2:2, 2 google adsense spots and 2 site related spots. In this case, in terms of site presence, google wins the fight. Unless you want to deliver the idea that this is all about google adsense, reposition the adsense spots. bring your upload box into the middle and make sure that its the focal point of the site. What are the incentives for users to upload? Right now you're one of the many that offers such a service, why should a user go with/through you? Do you have a spot in place where the most recent uploads are going to be in the spotlight, until they are replaced by a newer one?
Deliver interactivity, not just a box on bright background. Center your efforts in the presentation towards the target group you're catering to; social networkers, etc.
you're on the right track, the url is a match, even though the ext. is not favorable, yet not half as bad as others i've seen. A few repositioning efforts, some added activity and you're set. :wave:

I was hoping that the ajax upload form would be 'cool' enough to bring users to the site, but I'm also thinking of adding a user registration feature with the ability to create galleries and maybe some other things.

Ok I had to look at this one as I have a photo sharing site. I would plug it here but hey its not my post.
Your upload speed is great faster than mine.
The design is basic thats good but doesnt do much for me. Dont know if that would stop me from using the site if I didnt have my own.
I would add more funtions to the site but hey they just cant mess up the upload great for some to keep it that simple and you may find you get users that normally cant figure out how to do this. ( there are many out there)
