I want to do something nice...

Ive been wanting to do this for a long time... but since i have depended on my NP$ to get me a little extra money around the holidays, i havent been able to get around to it.

I would like to give away the remainder of the 260 NP$ that i own... Its not a major amount, but something is something right?

Id like to do this... but at the same time, I would like to see something nice done for others by all of you.

In times of chaos with the war in iraq and typhoons tompaling cities, so many people dieing left and right we dont even hear about a lot of the deaths anymore, we need to put past what we feel is important, and think about what is important.

My Np$ will be devided to anyone who posts... Please post in reply to your feelings... To make sure people who post read this, put the first letter of your user ID in ( ) as the title of your reply... for example mine would be (D). If you dont do that, i will not include you as you did not find the true meaning of this post.

Post untill jan 4nd 2005...which is about 4 days. NP$ is GREATLY accepted as a donation to the np$ pile. The entire 260 + any donations will all be given away!

Thanks to:
Qwarts 10NP$ donation
&
Will7 50 NP$ donation
&
20.00 NP$ from Enaido
&
50.00 NP$ from domain.addict

The pot stands at 390NP$

I would like to give away this NP$ because i really appriciate every one of you on this forum. I hope atleast some of you feel the same way about me as well... Lets seriously think about this post. Im hoping I start a chain reaction.

My prayers are with everyone...especially those whos lives have been tured upside down.

Thanks everyone...

I think this is very nice of you, especially in these times. I know I would like to do this as well, and I may in the future. I will take whatever NP $ I get from you, convert them to cash in the NP Exchange and then donate them to all the victims. Excellent Giveaway!!! :D

It really is sad what is happening throughout the world. The Tsunami death count now reportedly rises to over 100,000. The events in Iraq have casued huge controversy and many have died.

I can't complain about the Tsunami - it was merely a natural occurance, yet it remains sad. But about the Iraq events.

After watching Fahrenheit 9/11, it seems there was no cause for the war in the first place. Whether the contents of that film were true or not, I do not know. But according to it, it seems that George Bush started the war solely to quench his thirst for war - and oil.

The majority of Iraquis were, in fact, happy with their country and life, it was only small minority groups who stood up to their ruler. However, Bush led us to believe that things were wrong.

To make things worse, we, the UK, have joined the events, with Tony Blair standing by Bush in everything he does.

These are, as you asked for, my feelings. I apologize if they cause offence to any Americans, but they are my opinions - I do not like Tony Blair either. And also, because I feel so strongly about world affairs, I am donating 50NP$ to this pot to make the prize bigger...

Thanks for reading...will7.

Thank you very much for that will...

You must not believe everything michael Moore put on that video, as most of his facts are not supported.

I dont want to turn this into a debate about iraq or presidents however...

Thank you very much for your donation... your name will too be added to the original post...

You have to be on advanced mode though, you can't do it in quick reply.

Domain, I don't want it to turn into a debate either, and I did say that I couldn't be sure if what was in the film was true so. Anyway, lets continue this competition and;

-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL

The one thing that I think is worse than the Tsunami, is how in 2 months, no one will remember the people who lost their lives. I mean, if you think about, people say that they remeber, but next time you are talking to someone, ask them if they remember any of these:

1984
Bhopal, India: Toxic gas, methyl isocyanate, seeped from Union Carbide insecticide plant, killed more than 2,000, injured about 150,000.

1984
Philippines: "Ike" hit seven major islands, leaving 1,300 dead

1994
Caribbean and southern Fla.: Flooding and mudslides caused by "Gordon" led to an estimated 1,122 deaths in Haiti. There were eight deaths in Fla.

1990
Northern Philippines: Magnitude-7.7 quake killed about 2,000, injured 3,500. Epicenter was in the city of Cabanatuan. About half the deaths were around the tourist center of Baguio. An estimated 148,000 were displaced or made homeless.

1998
Papua New Guinea: Spurred by undersea earthquake, three tsunamis wiped out entire villages in the northwest province of Sepik. One tidal wave reported by survivor to be 30 ft high. At least 2,000 found or presumed dead. Many who were injured by the tsunamis were later killed by deadly gangrene infections.

1997
Ardekul, Iran: Casualty numbers varied, but the official count was 1,560 people killed and at least 4,460 injured when an earthquake measuring 7.1 magnitude rocked rural areas of eastern Iran. The quake leveled 11 villages and inflicted heavy damage on the towns of Qaen and Birjand near its epicenter, as well as uncounted damage over the Afghanistan border.

1988
Bangladesh: heaviest monsoon in 70 years inundated three-fourths of country, killing more than 1,300 and leaving 30 million homeless. Damage estimated at over $1 billion

1999
Armenia, Colombia: A magnitude-6 quake left 1,124dead and 4,000 injured. More than 200,000 left homeless.

1999
Adapazari, Turkey: The Dรผzce quake, coming just three months after the deadly Izmit quake, killed 1,100 people and injured 5,000.

Im sure I could go on and on, but the sad truth, is people act, and say things now, but in the future, will they remember those who lost thier lives. I HOPE SO. Its sad to see things like this happen.

I disagree with that...

Sure things move on...and we cant weep the rest of our lives... but those who did loose their lives will NEVER be forgotten..

the events you spoke of im sure are still remembered for those that were old enough to remeber them... They may not be talked about nearly as much as when they happend... but to say that they have been forgotten about is not a very true statement...

As an american... when 9/11 happends people were devistated.... Just because its not talked about as much anymore... it doesnt mean that those who lost their lives are forgotten...

Andrew

I will be handing out the NP$ soon enough...

I am sorry, I made a bold statment, and I realize now that it came out wrong. What I ment by what I said was, that most people only remember that things like this happen, if its local. I am not saying everyone has forgoten, but just that most, lets say non-americans, forget these things. The one thing that makes me mad when I watch the news, is when they say things like, "today 134 people lost their lives in a plane crash, 12 of those were americans." Who cares what they were, they were all people who tradgicly (spelling) died. That is all I am say. I think its sad when people dont care/forget because its another country.
