So I've decided to try the risky but tried and semi-true adwords clickbank route. I have $50 in adwords right now, and I know that isn't much to start with. I figure I may put in up to $200 before I decide I need to give up.

But I've only spent $50 right now - and I haven't used it.

Things I know about:
1. Google Keyword Tool (use "exact" for more accurate results and show CPC)
2. CBEngine (Worth paying for?)
3. ClickBank gravity and other stats
4. Prosper202 self-hosted for keyword tracking (I know ABOUT not how to use it yet)
5. Adwords has changed recently. . .but I'm not sure what I need to look out for

Method:
1. Find recent medium-to-high gravity product on CB for lower risk
2. Find relevant keywords via GKT
3. Make (Copy-Pasta?) Landing pages, using relevant information
4. Keep track of everything EVERY DAY
5. Waste all my money and cry
6. Sell something important to me, rinse, repeat

Any necessary readings? Advice? Good daily budget to start at? Just !@#$ it?

Thanks! :tu:

There's a lot of good information on the Adwords site itself, especially in the learning center. Maybe TOO much info for a new advertiser, but I recommend at least reading the section on Getting Started with Adwords.

Also, read their advertising policies carefully, especially their Linking Policy, which provides a lot of valuable information about what they want to see on your landing pages.

Paying careful attention to what Google says they want/don't want can save you a LOT of money.

Or in other words, NOT giving Google what they want will cost ya!

lol if losing $200 will make you go homeless you're in a bad situation. it would help if you would tell us what exactly you were advertising. but here are some pointers:

1. it's not cost efficient to advertise sites that make money off advertising (sounds redundant but you'll be surprised)
2. having a domain that is an exact match of the keyword you are trying to advertise for is a humongous help. it will help generate more impressions and clicks at a cheaper price.
3. i recommend targeting u.s. only (assuming you live in u.s.), the "accelerated" deliver method, position preferences on (and setting them 1-8), and turning off content network advertising (click fraud is impossible to fully regulate).

Trial and error is a good way to test things out.

From what I've learnt you need to take a risk to see a profit - I've just paid AdWords quite a bit of money and i will wait to see if i see any results.
