IDN.IDN: I am extremely excited over this. This market is brand-new and virtually untouched. The whole world was limited to .com, .net, .org, etc. New options are now being presented - they can register names with extensions fitting their scripted language. Let's look at China, as it is a good market to invest. There is no translation for .COM to Chinese. They know it out of familiarity only. It has no real meaning to them! Yuan.com is great domain because Yuan is the name of their currency. Problem is, 'yuan' is a Chinese word written in Latin letters representing spoken sound (pin-yin). ε…ƒ.com is good too, it means the same thing as yuan.com. There's a problem with it though, it is mixed up with English and Chinese characters - it is less visually attractive. On a Chinese keyboard they would have to switch from a Chinese layout to English for type-in. But what about ε…ƒ.ζœΊζž„ (Yuan.agency)? 1 simple and meaningful character before the dot. Chinese will come to appreciate it too.

Chinese are preoccupied with .coms for the time being because Americans value .com, it's an established and lucrative market from a domainers prospective. Most Chinese over the age of 40 were not even taught pin-yin in school, many don't understand it at all! ε…ƒ.ζœΊζž„ is recognized by all Chinese. There will be a level of pride to own something 100% their own, something every Chinese can understand. Ever been to a Chinese website? It's not written in English or pin-yin, it's all Chinese characters. Why not the domain too? It's just a matter of time before it projects a level of preferred acceptance.

I have 1 free blog post @ my website

Nice information but I think it is better to invest in PINYIN and wait since that is what China currently teaches their students. #PersonalPreference
