IDN and Search Engines

Do IDN names work with search engines for better optimization ?

yes many people's IDN .jp's are doing pretty well. There are a few on the first page of the search results in yahoo search. (which has a big market share in japan)

So yahoo ranks IDN names
Are there any other engines accepting these names ?

Google does as well but yahoo has been EXTREMELY IDN friendly with generic idns. Some are ranking in the top 10 of millions of results.

Do you have any search samples, i didn't see any IDN name yet
(even i don't use yahoo a lot)

I don`t know other language.But in Chinese site I have.I notice that IDN did`t help in SEO .I think DNS,web server and web browser,those working flow is main problem.They are actually connection using the punycode.And also goggle yahoo "reading" your URL is also punycode.I guess That xn--blablabla.com dose`t meaning any thing to search engine.But good IDN still valuable marketing tools.and maybe I was wrong and maybe search engine will change.Keeping hunting everybody.
