Hello, I am going to be starting a new website soon, and I'm quite new into the domain/webdevelopment business, and I was hoping for some ideas/help. I think I have enough to invest into it, and i already had a couple websites and still run a few. The others brought in money, but im hoping to use what i have left over from them to start something new.
I was thinking about a free arcade website and adding advertisements, or a very inexpensive membership to future betas to games like mmorpgs (I know some game developers and will talk to them about this). Or if it is strictly or mainly quick games, then I doubt i will try to go for paid subscriptions, because I want for alot of gamers to keep coming back to play free games. The games will be free, simple games. Thinking of making some incentive to a very cheap membership.
My questions would be: Am i looking into an overused cliche of development (are there too many arcades out their to draw revenue for myself when i could develop something else)? Am I looking into alot of hardwork since I am new, more than I am bargaining for (more than the normal hard work it takes to start as a new developer.) Should I take another path? Should I develop something else?
If i were to go this path, should I start out with a free/cheap script or should I start out big and hope it gets noticed and the revenue increases to a point where it pays off or breaks even faster.

Thanks in advance.

Aracde scripts are a dime a dozen now, way too many on the market.

best bet is to start something new or making arcade scripts even better..like revolutionary or something..

my 2 cents.
