I just had a thought... not that the regular live auctions aren't a blast... but I just thought perhaps it might be a good idea to hold a senior member auction...

By senior member I mean those who have at least 1 solid and 1 spinning star.

What do you guys think...? How many of us are there?

I would be really interested in something like that. :tu:

Let's hear your thoughts. :)

Lets make it 1 and a half stars. :)

Hmm There are some good traders who are old in the game but new in the forum. Perhaps a better alternative would be may be a certain number of positive transactions?

I'd really like to focus on the senior members here. If for nothing else to find out who they are, and bring them out to participate in a single event. Something else can be done for High Rating Members too... but that isn't what this post is about. Honestly... I mean no offense to any other members... I am just tying to raise a little interest among our senior members :tu:

Well, what do you call a senior member. This is something that I really wouldn't be hurt about if I did not make the cutoff, but the time cutoff is something that you should take into consideration.

Either way, I think it is a good idea. But think. Not only newer members can cause problems as we saw in the last auction.

Exactly the point I wanted to make... but really up to you!

Good luck!

I don't really think this is a good idea. Just because you've been at a member for a long time doesn't mean nothing. I know there are people that have driven for such a long time and their just horrible at it. I know that I haven't been here for that long but I don't agree with this. I could see something else that is fair to everyone, also so no problems occur.

The major problem with it, is that it will seriously limit the number of people bidding in the auction, thus, wont properly work...

You -could- however, have a restriction of perhaps 30TR and 1 year, and that -may- work....

However any more than that, and you are looking at a low uptake...

Ok then... lets just forget I mentioned it. Clearly it's more of a problem than it's worth...

Admin... please close this thread. Thanks

I don't think you should close this thread, simply from the fact that there are a lot of valid points coming up, and by doing this, I'm sure we could get some kind of "resolve" :)

Agreed.

I started this thread with one (1) idea - a "senior member auction"

There is either no interest by the senior members... or there are no senior members left...!!!

Therefore, there is no reason to keep the thread open... IMHO.

Or we could have a DNOA member auction. :P

lol, most of us that posted here are members of DNOA :p

That's probably where you came to the conclusion, maybe not

As ManicGirl said, she started this thread with one idea - a "senior member auction". Please don't deviate from this one idea. She didn't ask for different types of groups... she wants feedback on putting together a senior member auction. Let's keep this thread true to that one idea.

I think it was more of a discussion as to how you define a "senior member" here....
Surely we don't need to make a new thread everytime we have something to input which is relevant to a thread?

No, she clearly defined that in her first post.

Of course not. But she specifically asked (twice) to stay on the topic of a senior member auction.
