I just posted an article about how ICANN's so-called "Empowered Community" accountability mechanism is captured:

and how this affects the ability for the community to hold ICANN accountable for bad decisions, in particular the recent controversies surround .ORG.

ICANN looks like a text book case of what enormous conflicts of interest can do when they are the majority. The writing was on the wall years ago, it's no surprise.

Meanwhile, Web 3.O with blockchain domains are making great strides and ICANN will only propel the movement towards decentralization.
