The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced today that four generic top-level domains (gTLDs), .pars, .shia, .tci, and .xn--mgbt3dhd are being placed into the Emergency Back-End Registry Operator (EBERO) program. This action is being taken to ensure the security and stability of the Internet.
As noted in an earlier announcement, these gTLDs, operated by Asia Green IT System Bilgisayar San. ve Tic. Ltd. Sti., were not in compliance with the contractual obligation related to the emergency threshold of downtime for a Registration Data Directory Service. A temporary EBERO provider will take over management of the four gTLDs to ensure the continued operation of essential services.
