I'm looking for cruel-but-fair appraisal of iblog.com - this seems like the right place to ask!

Registered the domain in 2000 but have not done anything useful with it.

Blogging might be picking up a bit now that http://blogger.com has relaunched. Google says it finds about 330,000 occurances of the word (if that counts for anything, I have no idea)

any thoughts welcome

I agree with RJ. Definately a hot potato atm.

$x,xxx HIGH - $xx,xxx low realisticly. It's hard from what i can see to make it a "revenue" generator without advertising. For a company looking for a loss leader to build a community for other services (i.e. google.com) then I would think high $x,xxx is a decent expectation.

i'd say $1500-$2000 if you're lucky.... it's all well and good for people to say it'll sell for $10,000+, but i'd be very surprised if you found a buyer for that...i know people are saying that blog names are super-hot, but there's not really any tangible evidence that any of them would sell for $1k+. it's mostly hot air.
not to say it's not an excellent domain. it is.

Is weblogging a fad? I think not. It's only just beginning to hit the mainstream with more powerful solutions coming on line like http://www.typepad.com

Is it a bubble for speculators? Maybe.

iblog.com should easily fetch $5k and above.
