I just hand registered these dot coms tonight. I had intended to register only one that I had been considering for a while but I wound up breaking my own rule about not registering names immediately (when I discovered the others). I'd love some feedback from you guys about end user pricing and any general feedback about them.

Bust My Gut

Bust That Gut

Bust That Nut

Buzz Worthy Content

Buzz Worthy Stuff

Get Some Buzz

FYI - BuzzWorthyDomains.com is available for registration if anyone wants it. I almost registered it myself but then realized I had no need for it (at least I exercised a tiny bit of self-control lol)

I'm not seeing any value, sorry.

Don't regret it -- if these are new registrations, contact the registrar and ask for a refund. Put your money in aftermarket domains. If you want more info on where to find these aftermarket domains, send me a PM.

BustMyGut.com- really? You want to feel pain?
Appraisal: $0

Bustyourgut.com- again... "Bust your" is aggressive talk. So for weight loss and losing "the gut"... it doesn't work
Appraisal: $0

BustThatNut.com- this one sounds really really painful!! :D
To "bust THAT nut" is not exactly the way to go, but I guess that goes with BDSM. haha
Appraisal: $0

The 3 buzz domains = 3 x $0 = $0

Total Appraisal = 6 x $0 = $0

Get a refund if possible.

Before you register a domain you need to think about what gives the domain potential value. The best way to do this is to look at similar domain sales. There is not one single domain sale containing the term buzzworthy, bust my, or bust that. You can find this info at namebio.com.

So that's why these domains don't have any value. Definitely get a refund if possible and focus on flipping aftermarket domains.

There is still money to be made with hand regs, but it takes a lot of searching. I think you should take it easy on the purchasing and focus on researching what gives a domain value. You have to do this if you want to make serious money from domaining.

I agree with the above responses.

The only way to really make money on hand-registered domains is foreseeing future trends and registering domains that would make sense or be needed at a later time in a upcoming/very young market. And you've got to have a knack for that and do a lot of research/reading.

BustMyGut.com may sound catchy to develop a little site on, others might think so as well. This means you've registered a decent domain worth building a website on, not a domain worth selling.

Established websites rarely lay out money on names because they sound catchy, they already have an established website and won't be re-branding their entire project. Endusers spend money on domains that can offer legitimate credibility to their business = Common, generic keywords that are familiar and highly searched for.

Examples that could probably be sold: AbExercise.com, WeightBench.com, WorkoutRoutine.com. ...But, these are all taken, which is why people say you can't make money on handregs. Anything actually worth anything is taken.

Now the *exception* to the rule if you see a domain sell that is not generic and was registered within the same year or the year prior, is if a startup was forming and a team sat down and discussed a name for themselves and came to the conclusion "Let's call our website BustMyGut.com!" And they all fall in love and get stuck on the idea and see it's already registered by you, here is where you get emailed an offer. You'll have better chances playing scratch-off tickets and would lose less money than investing in domain names with this concept. The people that sell their newly reg'd domains for $x,xxx are plain lucky.

Good luck.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to comment on my post. @tomcarl I especially appreciate your detailed response and agree wholeheartedly with your statements. I look at these names as brandables, which are always lottery ticket domains. I liked them because most of them contain familiar terms and phrases which I think adds a little value to them.

You are right, there is a difference between buying a domain worth building a website on and buying a domain worth selling. When I look at these names I see websites and brands I personally would not mind building (fitness, marketing and humor are all things I enjoy a lot). And (at least in my mind) the phrases are interesting, fun and memorable. But I know I cannot have a portfolio comprised only of cute phrases I love and want to develop.

It seems that the NamePros consensus is that selling these names alone is a long shot, unless the right person just happens to fall in love with one of them and is willing to pay for it. However I don't regret buying them at this point because I think these names would be fun and somewhat easy for me to build out.

And who knows, maybe one of my lottery tickets will pay off at some point :)

Thanks again

Just going to point out what first comes to mind to me for if you plan to develop the sites:

Bust My Gut - Funny/Joke or Workout/Nutrition

Bust That Gut - Workout/Nutrition

Bust That Nut - Porn

Buzz Worthy Content - News service

Buzz Worthy Stuff - new Technology Product releases

Get Some Buzz - Hookah bar business

best of luck

@Revvd We are have similar thoughts about development for the most part. The two differences are:

Buzz Worthy Content - My first thought was for this to be a service that develops quality web content to help businesses get visitors, fans, downloads or whatever they want for a fee (buzz). But your idea is a good one too.

Get Some Buzz - My idea is a marketing or PR service to help businesses or brands generate buzz or positive attention. But again your idea is awesome too.

Its good to see that these phrases convey a common vision with someone. Thanks for posting!

worth considering reg fees over a period of time compared to buying a better name in the aftermarket, good luck
