I won't repeat ones that others have listed already. But here are a few you may not think of:

https://www.dcode.fr/duplicates-detector - finds or lists duplicates in a list. Let's say you have a list of domain names and you want to remove or find ones that repeat. You can easily do it with this tool.

https://www.textfixer.com/tools/remove-white-spaces.php
- removes extra white space or tabs. Can save a lot of time when dealing with domains, auth codes, spreadsheet lists, etc.

https://tld-list.com/ and https://tldes.com/com - to compare domain registration / renewal prices.

https://instantdomainsearch.com/ - quickly determine if domain is available.

https://www.libreoffice.org/ -
think of it as a free and open-source version of Microsoft office. It has the equivalent of Excel too called Calc. Very similar controls, so you'll feel at home. VERY capable software.

https://peerideas.com - Have your domain names valued and appraised by other domainers.

https://www.uclassify.com/browse/uclassify/iab-taxonomy-v2?input=Text - plug in a keyword and it will classify it into one of 500+ categories. Helpful for figuring out how to categorize your domain or what industry a name could fit. Not always accurate but still helpful.

https://hackerpain.github.io/bulkvaluator/ - bulk GoDaddy appraisals. A little buggy but works.

For those that can't resist automated appraisals...

Just found a better way to access Valuate.com. If you go directly to Valuate.com you only get to do like 2 free automated appraisals.....however, if you go to https://www.domaining.com/valuate/ you get 10 per day!

DHG - Good for filtering out domains
DomDetailer - If you're Into checking metrics, this Is a must! Running hundreds of thousands of metric checks a month would be EXTREMELY expensive If done using services API subscriptions Individually.
Scrapebox - Used for years, not only for domains.
Ahrefs - Best tool for checking out background IMO.
Moz - Meh, but I keep my subscription.
Mondovo - Great keyword research tool.

I'm an SEO with a dash of domaining though.

This is such a great thread.
I'm glad to see it is still performing and again, I want to thank @Silentptnr for starting it, and all the members who have shared their tools / links.
This is only one of the reasons NP is the greatest domain site on the planet... unselfish members.

:great:

Peace,
Kenny

LastPass (free password manager so you never fall for a phishing attack)

ClipDiary (so you can copy-paste multiple texts easily - PM if you can't find the free version)

Tools like ClipDiary/Ditto are very useful for domainers! I forgot to post this.

Thanks

Just like professional sports players etc sometimes it's not more techniques but more practice perfecting existing techniques

Eg staying out on the pitch after training continuing to practise long after the others have gone home

I never get bored of search engine databases i can sit at a domain name search engine for may hours easy as pie and finding potential domains

Very much my cup of tea

Seen a few more I have used in other ppsts

I do use the uniregistry app every so often

Have looked at sedo in the past

I browse GoDaddy auctions occasionally

I don't bother with seo services or website or logo services as don't use or need them

I use estibot.com for fun as don't really need an accurate valuation as a domain names valuation is whatever I think it's worth based on how valuable it is to me

I browse brandbucket.com branddo.com and namerific.com to get an idea of current pricing trends

I look at np top names and liquid names to get see what prices nn. Com and LL. Com are selling for

And like to look at np liquid names to get an idea of LLL. COM and LLLL. COM trends and sold prices

Some times I use a whois to find names to buy as when the name is bought it tells you who bought it etc and you get a good idea of who potential buyers would be for similar names mostly brandables
