I registered a Google domain name, what can I do now

google.com.im dropped and I regiter it.

Now, what can I do for this domain? Parking? Sell to Google? Sell to other buyers?

Expect a letter from Google's attorneys.

Get rid of the domain. Registering a trademark is just plain bad business.

Gotta love the ability of the Chinese to have no idea about intellectual property rights. It's just not in their culture.

So what, he can be sued, it is not like he is ever going to have to pay them any money. He is in China after all. Their government and Google is not exactly on best terms.

I am quite sure that Google paid a large sum of money for Google.cn as the intellectual property laws in China are not the same as in the west.

The complainant has a certain amount of time to lodge a case, 2 years I think, after which there have no comeback. Happened with a few companies.

The .im on the other hand is a definite violation and should be dropped although I am sure it would be difficult to file a suit against a Chinese national. Simply nobody with any common sense would want to touch it.

i find it weird though that google even let a simple domain drop... maybe they were trying to lure and see who would try and get it and make a move? lol.

but yeah, if you don't like complications, i say drop it. get a refund and get another safe domain

Why would they even want or need it? IM = Isle of Man. Special, localized search for what ...about 80,000 people????

More likely registered by someone else (who thought they hit the jackpot until they got a C&D letter telling them to delete the name.)
