Hello,
I regged the domain "BeaconsPrint.com" a few months ago with a bunch of "beacon / beacons" domains, here is the email I received today from "[email protected]"

What is your advice ? Should I try to explain them the term "Sprint" is not what the domain is centered around ?

"We are contacting you on behalf of Sprint Communications Company L.P. ("Sprint") and its affiliated companies.

Sprint is the registered owner of the well-known and famous SPRINT trademark, which it widely uses in connection with telecommunication services.

It has been brought to Sprint's attention that you have registered the domain name http://beaconsprint.com/ which contains an unauthorized use or confusingly similar use of the SPRINT trademark. Such unauthorized use is a violation of Sprint's federally-and internationally registered trademark rights and will inevitably cause confusion with the public and dilute and tarnish the value of the SPRINT trademark.

We hereby request that you (1) immediately cease and desist from all infringing uses of the SPRINT mark; and (2) reply to this email with confirmation that you will make no such use of the SPRINT mark in the future. Please let us have your response via email confirmation within the next ten (10) days in order to avoid further escalation of this matter."

I would inform them that it is beacons print, not beacon sprint, and that as a print shop there is no way a customer would be confused with their cell provider. In all seriousness, you are allowed to use the word "sprint" in unrelated fields. A quick search at the TM office will illustrate that. They are simply trying to scare you and in many cases it probably works.

Inform them of the difference and the word is "Print" not "Sprint" and that it has nothing to do with Sprint's Trademark area. However, I would remove the parking ads because I just checked and they are serving ads for Sprint. That can be seen as profiting from the Trademark.

If it was me, I would take it off of parking then slap a 1-2 page website about beacons on it. Then contact them and show them what the domain is about and that it has nothing to do with sprint.

First off, remove it from parking since there are Sprint ads.

Thanks to you @cocaseco and @ulterios , a little content and an explanatory email was enough.

That's funny how you can read some domains in several ways if they are not camel cased !

You are most welcome.

Yes, some people have registered domains and not realized that they can be taken different ways or a different amount of words.

Some of these that can be taken different ways:

AnimalsExchange OR AnimalSexChange (Depending on where you see the words ending)

Pen/Island OR PenisLand (Depending on where you see the words ending)

BlackHat/eBook OR BlackHateBook (Depending on where you see the words ending)

LA/Drape or LadRape (Depending on where you see the words ending)

HollandsHitFestival OR HollandShitFestival (Depending on where you see the words ending)

So always make sure of what you register and be aware of alternate meanings.

Good Luck with your domain. :)
