I need hosting help!

I know absolutely NOTHING about hosting. Ive been parking my domains for 3 years and never HAD to host anything. But as martinisky mentioned to me, its a good idea to develop a domain name. So thats why im trying to do. Now I just need a few opinions on hosting. Obviously I have the domain name already. Look i just want something cheap right now that has good customer service and good hosting (sites that are UP a majority of the time).

Oh and something thats not going to confuse the crap out of me!

All i have for the site im developing right now, is the index.htm file and a .gif. I know your kind of supposed to base which package you want, on how much bandwidth your going to be using. Its a one pager right now. And ill say 5,000-20,000 people a month going to it. The site is a joke/humor site. StumpSomeone.com I know all my requests are pretty general, but again, I dont really know what it is that i DO need. Thats why im asking for help

If you're simply hosting a .gif image and a single page, you'll be using less than 2mb of space? For 20,000 visitors you'd be looking at around 20gb of bandwidth.

It all depends on the host, a lot of hosts offer 30 day money back guarantee's if you're not happy with the service. If you're paying monthly you can just contact your host and ask them to terminate your services and they will stop charging you. Unless you're 100% sure the host is good, don't pay yearly, because you can lose a lot of money if a host messes up or goes bust, whereas monthly payments mean you can move out easily with minimal loss.
