I found a name that had dropped a few days back and I put off regging it because I was getting some money in my paypal account from a sale of a DN.
Of course today when I went to reg it----gone
I knew I should have regged it the other day.
I hate when this happens---another lesson I learned.

You might want to edit out the domain name. It could just be regged by someone who is tasting it and then will let it drop if there is no traffic.

That's happened to me quite a few times before, if it drops again at least you know there is no traffic to it and you saved yourself Reg Fee or 25 cents.

Not always true on the "No Traffic" part. If the domain was tasted and dropped again, the domain might not of fit the tasters min traffic range. Which could be 100 uniques per day or 50 or 20 or who knows. I have picked up many tasted domains, and have several that get a strong 50 uniques per day and make money.

happened to me once, it was gone when I went to reg it, then a few days later went back to check it for fun and it was there again, so i did. these days if you feel you've found a decent name it's best to reg it on the spot. the test is, think about what would happen if you wait a few days and come back and it's gone - if you think it would really upset you then reg it right then if you can.

I just picked up the one I was whining about last week ;)

Do NOT type the domain itself in any whois sites to check if it has dropped (Thats possibly what caused attention to it) - and do not Go to the Domain to see if it is there (This will add traffic and it may not drop again).

Use the DomainTools whois - But enter the .net version to check if it was a .com -
They have those little image indicators that tell you if the other extensions are available or not.

Mine dropped again after 5 days ...

That's a great idea.

I haven't had any problems with domain tasting at web-page.info. I'm guessing it's all in how the whois database is queried? As you can probably tell, I didn't write the script.

definately don't visit the url, you're just adding traffic.

:o

If the domain is worth much of anything to "outsiders" - Don't waste your time with any of this ... BackOrder it ;)

For the most part - We're only discussing domains that only hold "Beauty" to you for Development / Long Term.
